Subject: Update on Charlie :)
To: david@stargatekennels.com
Hi David,
Just an update, charlie is doing much better. He and We are getting on the same schedules now, We went to the Vet today for all his shots, and frontline, and heartworm meds, and the doctor said that this was one of the nicest looking chocolate labs he'd ever seen, he thought he was just beautiful, and so do we. I gave him all your information, and said he would definitely use you as a referral. FYI, Charlie has gained 10 pounds since you dropped him off, and now weighs in at 37 pounds. He lost his front baby teeth, and is getting new ones. I think he may be adopting us finally! We will keep you posted, but we are having many more good days than bad with him now. thanks for the encouragement, and great advice.
Best,
Jane D'Onofrio

Subject: Charlie is doing great!
To: david@stargatekennels.com
Hi David,
Charlie has made tremendous progress, and he is very smart. We are still battling the peeing in his crate, but it is becoming less and less each day.
He knows how to give each separate paw, sit, almost mastered lay down, and he gets his own drinks out of the water dispenser on the fridge. I was getting water for my son in a cup one day, and he jumped up after me, and pressed the button with his nose, and took a drink. Now he takes his drinks whenever. He is too smart.
He gained 10 lbs since your drop off, and we had all the next shots, heartworm and flea/tick prevention. He is scheduled to be neutered at the end of May. (Does that sound about right?)
Thanks for helping us via email through the rough start. He truly needed 4 weeks to adjust, and now he has done a 180. He is happy now, and I can tell he is not sad anymore. Everyone is better adjusted now, and on a schedule. Thank goodness. I guess you can say that I completely panicked when he was being nuts in the beginning....thanks for your words of wisdom.
My vet said he is going to recommend you as a breeder to interested parties. He loves Charlie, and says that he is a truly handsome, smart puppy.
More pictures will be coming your way.
Best,
Jane

To: david@stargatekennels.com
Hi David,
Charlie just had another check up.....5 months now, and 50 lbs....and growing fast!
He is just gorgeous, and loves to climb the sliding board in the back yard with the kids, and he almost mastered "stay". He is doing a lot better with the crate accidents, and loves to play fetch. He is very smart. He is adjusting much better here now, and knows he is spoiled.
Talk to you soon!

Hi David!
Our puppy is doing really well! He's feisty! He loves raiding the bathroom trashcan. It turns out that toilet paper rolls and kleenex are really diabolical demons waiting to attack unsuspecting bathroom visitors. Who knew? Anyway, we named him Copper. He's hard to get a good shot of because he's usually moving. He's a joy! Let us know what you think of the shot with the tennis ball...to bad it's upside-down.

David,
I cannot tell you how happy we are with our new family member!!! We have named her Cinnamon. You dropped her off at 10:30pm and we were still playing with her at 3am. She never whimpered or cried at being separated from her siblings, which was a huge surprise. She is now 10-weeks old and is the smartest dog I have ever had. She knows her name, come here, outside, bed (for the kennel), and she is growing like a weed.
Thank you so much!!!

Hi David,
Attached are a couple of photos of "Fro". He is such a pleasure and a joy to have around. He's growing bigger by the day, and learning new things all the time. He comes when you call him by name and plays fetch pretty well. He's going in on Saturday for his next round of shots. We'll stay in touch and keep you posted on his progress and growth. Thank you so much!

Hi we just wanted to drop a note and a few pictures to show you how well Junior is doing. He is a great addition to our family. The pups are best friends and we really enjoy having the 2 of them. In the picture of the 2 of them Dakota is on the left (you picked him up for us in the South Dakota) and Junior, who we purchased from you is on the right. Junior turned 1 today! Thanks again for the great addition to our family!
Sincerely,
Kim & Matt Perkins

She is amazing. Slept the entire day her first day. That night she kept me up. Its worth it though. She is very playful during the day (chewing on EVERYTHING) and around the same time evry afternoon she sleeps for hours. She also cant sleep without being somehow connecting her body to mine. I love her so much and I am so happy I bought her from you. Thank you again. I will send pictures soon.

Subject: Labradors
Dear David,
Hope you're enjoying a good holiday season.
I wanted to update you about Luke Skywalker (Krystal x Buddy,
1/12/07). We love him -- I mean, he's crazy energetic, and he has a
once a week hour and a half trip to the dog park, and at least twice a
week trips to the dog beach. He's swimming lots now, though another
lab owner said it looks like he's still paddling and not yet learned
to use his back legs. I'll have to work with him this summer when the
water's warm enough for me to get it. Your description "energetic,
could hunt" is on the mark. He bee-lines directly to his ball and
when we're playing fetch, he won't let other dogs distract him. He's
friendly at all times, a goof ball really, and really focused on
getting the job done. He's a great dog. Happy, healthy, so lovable
and beautiful. Our son has to have Luke go to bed with him, and we
like that Luke barks at the occasional odd sound (but adores the mail
and UPS people).
Wondered if I could ask you a quick question: is there much
difference between a Chesapeake Bay retriever and the chocolate lab?
People ask me if he's a Chesapeake, I suppose because of the red
undertones? I'm tell them he's just a Chocolate on Omega 3's. Shiny,
pretty, ruddy.
Also, for what it's worth, I wanted to alert other owners -- do not,
never ever, have your pup chase a laser pointer. A kind but perhaps
inexperienced trainer at Petco suggested that this was a great way for
Luke to get exercise at night. It is not. Luke developed an
obsession with light and shadow, and we've had to bring in the big
bucks trainer to manage the behavior. With active breeds, and when
they're pups too young to go to the dog park or beach or even take a
walk for fear of Parvo (we eventually ignored the latter -- how can we
not take the dog on a walk? The yard isn't tiny, but I couldn't just
play with him in the backyard!), this can create big problems. Maybe
it's just Luke, and we love him even with the difficulty :) but I hope
other families won't have to call in the Dog Whisperer types to help
manage the obsession! :)
Thanks again -- we'd definitely buy another dog from you all, but
maybe after Luke's two or more. He'd love a pal.
Happy new year,
Tracy, Kim and Amos

Hi David,
Our pup (#4 from Truffle's 12-22-06 litter) Mosey continues to be an absolute joy. He weighs in at a very muscular 70 pounds but is a very gentle boy and loves people, kids and dogs. He is adored by our five kids and six grandkids and is the mayor of Menocino. Harold walks him into town daily and then they are off to explore the beach, river, or headlands. We also fenced an area for him outdoors but given his choice he is at our side. Any luck selling the house? Where are you domiciled now? Just thinkiing of how much joy Mosey has brought us and hoping you are doing well and continuing to have the pleasure of matching folks with your pups.
Best,

Hi David. Here is a picture of Bailey, she is out of Buddy and Sundae's '06 litter (puppy #6). She is a gorgeous dog, and looks like she's following in her dad's footsteps in the looks department. She is such a gentle family dog and loves to roll around with the kids any time of the day. Loves to go hunting and play fetch, and turns into a different dog when it's time to go to work. She's all business when it comes to retrieving - she's a great water dog. We couldn't have asked for a better dog for our lifestyle. Just wanted to say thanks for such a great dog. We'll send more pictures soon.

Subject: Truffles Aug 07 Litter...
Hi David-
I was looking at your site to take a look at Truffles Aug 07 Litter and noticed that she was not listed in your previous litters section. Any chance you'll be posting that? I had a friend asking to see Sydney when we picked her and wanted to take a look at it again. Let me kow if you'll be posting the pictures and description.
Sydney is doing great! I don't remember "hearth rug prospect" in her description however, she sure does love to sit in front of the fireplace! :) I've attached a few pictures for you to see.
Thanks,
Andrea Heyfron
